Yoga for Every Body
Hatha Yoga - Hatha translates as ha - "sun" (heat, active, masculine aspects) and tha - "moon" (cool, receptive, feminine aspects) and is intended to balance these divergent qualities. This yoga style refers to asanas (postures) and sequences of asanas designed to open and align the numerous channels within the body. When this occurs in the main channel, the spine, energy flows more freely. Hatha yoga integrates breath awareness and the mind-body connection to cultivate presence, strength, stability and flexibility. Explore and grow by playing your edge and surrendering in each posture.
Restorative Yoga- Restorative yoga instills conscious relaxation by identifying where we're holding tension. By creating space for ourselves, restorative postures dial down the nervous system and engage the relaxation response. Read more about why restorative yoga is the most 'advanced practice' and four of its biggest benefits here.
Vinyasa Yoga - A varying sequence of yoga poses that coordinate movement with the flow of breath from one pose to the next. It is an active practice that offers many physical and mental benefits. Sweat releases toxins and re-energizes the body while synchronized breathing quiets mental chatter and encourages the flow of energy throughout the body.
Trauma Informed Yoga
Tina completed additional yoga training through the Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Program (TCTSY), an evidence-based program intended for individuals who have experienced complex trauma and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Students are offered the opportunity to practice present moment awareness by connecting with their bodies in their own way, at their own pace. Choice in every moment empowers individuals to transform difficult emotions into strength, stability and resilience using the body as a portal to healing.
